On June 28, 2024, Apple Vision Pro had its first international expansion. The spatial computer arrived in the following countries and regions:

  • China Mainland
  • Hong Kong
  • Japan
  • Singapore

On July 12, 2024, this device becomes available in the following places:

  • Australia
  • Canada
  • France
  • Germany
  • United Kingdom

With that, Apple Vision Pro is available in 10 regions so far. There’s a rumor that Apple might soon expand Vision Pro to other regions, as visionOS 2.4 lets users set the language of their Vision Pro to Spanish and Italian. However, Apple hasn’t introduced new plans to expand Apple Vision Pro availability globally.

Can international customers buy Vision Pro?

Apple says Apple Vision Pro is only intended for the regions where it’s available, as it requires an Apple ID registered in those locations. Still, if you live in Italy and buy the device in France, you need to set your ID to one of the locations where Vision Pro is available.

Here’s what Apple tells us:

  • It only supports the languages of the regions it’s available for Siri and Dictations
  • The same is worth it for App Store, Apple Music, and Apple TV apps
  • For customers with vision correction needs, ZEISS will only accept vision prescriptions written by eye care professionals in the region you are in.
  • Customers may not be able to access certain apps, features, or content due to licensing or other restrictions in those countries or regions.
  • Apple Support is only available in the markets it’s available.

visionOS is the world’s first operating system made for spatial computing. It’s not just an upgraded iOS—it’s a brand-new system. You don’t tap on a screen. Instead, you navigate spatial experiences naturally using eye tracking, hand gestures, and voice commands. You can use your eyes, hands, and voice to control everything.

Apps float in space and you can move them anywhere. Want to browse Safari while watching a movie? Just look at the app, tap your fingers, and move it. This creates intuitive and magical interactions that feel natural and smooth. Apple Vision Pro’s App Store gives access to apps designed for Apple Vision Pro, built with spatial computing in mind.

Productivity in Mixed Reality

For professionals, the Vision Pro gives you a limitless space to work. You can open many apps and place them around your space. It’s like having 10 monitors around you. This is great for video editing, graphic design, or even writing documents.

The headset works with your Mac using Mac Virtual Display. Just look at your Mac, and its screen appears in front of you in perfect clarity. You can also pair it with a Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad to type and click like normal. This makes your workflow easy, fast, and futuristic.

Connection & Communication

The Vision Pro changes how you stay in touch. With FaceTime tiles, you can now see friends and coworkers as life-size 3D avatars, using Apple’s first 3D camera to scan your face and create a “Persona.” When you’re talking to someone, it feels like they’re right in front of you.

You can also collaborate and connect wherever you are using built-in tools. Share documents, screens, and movies in real-time. Thanks to Spatial Audio, voices come from where people are in your view, making the conversation more natural. With SharePlay, you can also work on the same app together.

Photos and Videos Like Never Before

Apple Vision Pro includes Apple’s first 3D camera that lets you capture magical spatial photos and spatial videos. These aren’t just pictures—they have depth and detail, so when you view them, it feels like you’re right there again. You can truly relive memories in 3D.

These spatial photos and spatial videos are stored in your iCloud library. So, you can revisit birthdays, vacations, and special moments in a whole new way. Watching them on the Vision Pro is deeply emotional and immersive, and something no other device can offer right now.

Apple Vision Pro for Learning & Training

Learning feels real with Vision Pro. Students and trainees can practice skills in 3D. From flying a plane to performing surgery, Vision Pro brings real-world training to life. U.S. schools and companies are already using Vision Pro to teach better and faster.

You can see molecules in science class or walk through ancient cities in history. For careers like medicine, engineering, or aviation, the Vision Pro offers safe, immersive environments to learn complex skills. This headset truly adds a new dimension for learning and development.

Entertainment Redefined

Watch your favorite films on what feels like a 100-foot screen, all in 4K quality with 4K resolution per eye. Paired with the Spatial Audio system, it’s like sitting inside the movie.

You can stream shows from Disney+, Apple TV+, and other platforms. Some of the videos are made in Apple’s new immersive format, making you feel like you’re inside the scene. The headset supports SharePlay, so you can enjoy movies with friends—even if they’re not in the same room. It truly offers immersive Spatial Audio that moves with your head and location.

For Developers: Building on an All-New Platform

Developers now have everything they need to create spatial experiences. Apple offers developer tools like RealityKit, Reality Composer Pro, and Unity support to help build amazing spatial apps. These tools let you create games, learning apps, and 3D tools for visionOS.

Developers can test their apps in Xcode and use the App Store to reach millions of U.S. users. Apple also runs special labs and sessions to help developers design apps that fully use spatial computing. This platform is just getting started, and the future looks huge.

Apple Vision Pro review

BGR‘s Jonathan Geller reviewed Apple Vision Pro. He says this spatial computer is the future, but we should take advantage of it with a grain of salt. Geller writes:

Do I want all of these CPU/GPU, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi radio signals directly on my skull? And do I want my eyes staring at screens instead of the real world? (…) I don’t think we have even been asked to make these incredibly tough decisions before to the order of this magnitude, and it feels awful to honestly consider them.

It’s awful because this is the most incredible piece of technology, maybe the most incredible product I have ever tried. But I keep trying to put some distance between it and myself. I haven’t worn it all day yet, I haven’t fully worked in it, though I do find myself missing the experience when I’m not wearing it. It is fatiguing, it’s more focused on consumption than productivity, but this is the V1.

Apple Vision Pro is more than just a headset—it’s the first step into the ata-start=”8715″>ta-end=”8746″>future of spatial computing. Whether you want to relive memories in 3D, transform any room into a theater, or enjoy limitless space to work, this headset delivers.

With custom Apple silicon, a new OS, and powerful developer tools, the Vision Pro marks a new chapter in computing. It’s designed to be private, personal, and powerful. Whether you’re a creator, a teacher, a student, or just someone who loves tech, Apple Vision Pro is a bold move into the future.
